Rayuela Productions is an independent Brussels-based production company dedicated to creative documentary and cinéma d’auteur. We love films that are subtle in content and powerful in form, that transcend cultural and social boundaries. Films that question the world and reveal the impact of politics on the intimate. Like Julio Cortázar’s masterpiece that inspired our name, we seek to bring new perspectives to an active audience.
Our productions have been selected worldwide at festivals such as Hot Docs and Dok Leipzig and nominated several times for the Magritte du Cinéma belge. Rayuela Productions was founded in 2014 by producer and director Laurence Buelens. With degrees in journalism, international politics and documentary filmmaking, Laurence is an alumna of Rotterdam Lab 2023, Eurodoc 2024 and a member of the European Documentary Association (DAE).
