Like previous years, the play.brussels cluster is a partner of the Anima Festival and the Futuranima programme!
From 26 February to 2 March, this programme for professionals and students is an opportunity to discover trends and explore issues affecting the animated film sector. Short and feature-length films, creation and development, funding and co-production, links with video games, VFX and illustration… All these themes are addressed at Futuranima.
In 2024, Anima is teaming up with Games.Brussels and play.brussels to offer a ‘making of’ presentation of the video game To Hell With The Ugly, developed by the French studio La Poule Noire and ARTE France. The presentation will look at the creative process behind the video game, and in particular the animated scenes and the division of labour between animators and video game developers.

Other highlights include the Brotaru meet-up organised by Games.Brussels on 26 February, and a round-table discussion on “Artificial Intelligence: State of the Art“, organised on 28 February by Anima with ABRACA, SACD and Sabam.
